Date of birth: August 4, 1992
Personal Background: Born in Tuscany Italy, 1992. Cole Sprouse first started his creative life by acting. The first time he was on television, he was 6 months old and was in a commercial. After he finished his hit Disney series, The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, he attended the University of New York. Cole majored in archaeology, graduating in 2015 from NYU with honors.
Style: Coles pictures mainly consist of portraits and landscapes. His images portray a serious and yet intimate aspect, while also giving off a hint of the olden days. His images tell a different series of stories and all contain unique compositions. He doesn’t follow the normal aspects of imagery, creating new yet beautiful photographs. He includes the naturalness of all situations, really making his pictures pop.
Philosophy: Cole sprouse gets his inspiration from a social standpoint. Being displeased with his society, he decided to show the people how he felt instead of telling them. He makes hims images be seen how he wants people to view himself, making all the images have a connection in one way or another.
Influence: The main people who have really influenced Coles life as a photographer are Ryan McGinley and Tim Walker. In an article Cole talks about Ryan McGinley saying, “He is also an example of a young photographer whose eye is kind of disrupting the oftentimes archaic associations with megalithic photographic figures in the photography industry.” Cole has always been a big fan of Tim Walker, he has really inspired Cole in his landscape photography. Both photographers have changed the perspectives and mindset to have when going into a photoshoot.
Compare and Contrast: For the first one I tried to recreate the image of the girl standing in the door way. The image had a sort of old timey feeling to it.I had one of my friends pose in a door way, and i think that her kitchen really kept the old feeling to it. But at the same time i put my on modern spin on it. i tried capturing the lighting in the background by really bringing up the brightness. I think overall, the picture was similar, but in its own unique ways.
The second picture of the flowers held up to the sky was the easiest one of the three. The most challenging part of the picture was finding the right angles. I wasn't sure if I should go at a straight on angle or from a more pronounced angle. Another challenging part was finding the right lighting, and as you can tell, my picture was taken un a much more cloudy and gloomy day. If I would have a taken it again I would use a moe variety of flowers and take the picture on a brighter day to really make the two images look more similar.
the final image of the landscape was easy to take the picture of but getting the lighting and fog was very hard. I took the picture at midday so the sun was't as bright and well seen. The fog was also an aspect of the picture that wasn't there. The 2 images are similar, but also different. they both contain a beautiful green scenery with a streaming river.

Artists statement: My images were taken from inspiration of Cole's pictures. His images gave me the ideas of what to take picture of, but also to take them in my own unique ways. The pictures took me a while to take, as well as trying them out in different locations. My first image of the girl in the doorway started out as a different person and in a different location, but the final product really turned out well in my opinion. The overall thing that I would change about these pictures is the lighting. To me, the lighting could be much better which really could have change the images in a good way.
